Hell Let Loose: Vietnam Commander First 10 Minutes
A decision order for the opening phase—what to read, what to ask, and what not to burn early.
Use the first ten minutes to turn the map into named work: check the active sector and spawns, ask squad leaders what they can do next, assign one clear builder or logistics job, then call a Commander ability only against a named target. Success is a task acknowledged and reported back, with a visible map or spawn change.

Action sequence
- STEP 01
At match start, open the tactical map and identify the active sector, safe spawns, and the next decision the team must make. Say the plan in one short Command message.
- STEP 02
Ask squad leaders for location, next action, and blocker. Convert replies into named work: defend, build, move supplies, mark a threat, or hold.
- STEP 03
Assign one clear owner for each immediate build or logistics job and give them a destination. Avoid sending a generic request that no squad can confirm.
- STEP 04
Call an ability only after its target and timing are named, then verify the displayed target before confirming.
- STEP 05
At the ten-minute check, ask what completed, what failed, and what is next. Success is an acknowledged task plus a visible map or spawn change; if nobody answers, pause the call-in and request a specific report.

Ask for position, next task, and the missing piece
Current squad-leader advice is most useful when it becomes a short radio prompt: where are you, what are you doing next, and what is stopping it? That gives the commander a map of real work rather than a list of vague status updates.
Confidence boundary: Player communication practice; it is not an official commander checklist.
Open field source · Tips for new squad leaders ↗Make the fallback spawn somebody's named job
The opening becomes actionable when one player is named to build or check the fallback garrison and another player is named to deliver the needed supplies. The official launch tips support the priorities—early Nodes, helicopters for troops and supplies, backup Garrisons, and tunnel hunting—but do not prescribe this exact command order.
Confidence boundary: Official priorities plus a field interpretation; not a mandatory doctrine.

- Ability names, cooldowns, and resource values can change; this page does not hard-code them.
- Update 1.5 corrected Commander Orders and tactical-map overlay mismatches, but it did not publish a universal ability schedule.
- This is field strategy; official sources do not prescribe a universal opening or guarantee a win in every match.
- The timing is a field strategy built from current Vietnam player discussion, the HLLVN Officer Guide, and official launch priorities. Official fixes to Commander Orders presentation improve the signal; they do not turn this decision order into a game rule.
